Sunland Visitor Center - 2005

Embracing our Past - Celebrating our Future!

Sunland Visitor Center (SVC) is a convenient "must" stop for travelers to pick up area, county and state tourism information. Located ¾ mile north of I-10, Exit 203, Toltec Road, in the "heart" of the Golden Corridor in Pinal County, midway between Phoenix and Tucson, it is one of the few complete, full service information centers in Arizona. Travelers may choose from over 400 FREE Arizona brochures, area maps, booklets and magazines for specific cities and towns. Information is also available on RV parks, desert and hiking trails, historical, geological and cultural attractions. SVC computers may also be used to obtain additional travel information on available websites. Information on the four Tag-a-long field trips and the Desert/Mountain Eco- Field Trip offered by SVC from October-March may be obtained at the information desk.   Also included this year is a Cotton Country Tour.

A variety of Field Trips will be scheduled throughout the winter season. Please contact the Visitor Center at 1-888-766-3007 or 520-466-3007 or e-mail: snlndvc@localnet.com for more information and reservations.

In June, 2003, the Visitor Center took possession of the Old Toltec School campus (just off Toltec Road) after signing a long-term lease with the Toltec School Board. The intention is to restore the old school back to its original beauty so that it can be used as a Visitor Center and Museum.  (Continued...)

Just updated for the "birding" pleasure of our local residents and many winter visitors, we have added several pages of information pertaining to the local species of birds found in our area.  Please visit Birding and few some of the wonderful birds living in our area.

Sunland Visitor Center is open Monday through Friday (except for major holidays) from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.  It is a non-profit corporation staffed by well-trained, friendly volunteers.  Call 1-888-786-3007 or (520) 466-3007 or email snlndvc@localnet for more information.

Take time to examine the cotton display and the gemstone display case. The Arizona City Gem and Mineral Society set up the lighted case particularly for those visiting "rock hounders".
