Cotton Country Tour

Big Business in Arizona

Cotton is the largest single cash crop produced in the state of Arizona.cotton_gin.jpg (76210 bytes)  Enough Arizona cotton is produced annually to make a pair of jeans for every man, woman and child in the entire United States.  The state’s average yield per acre is the highest in the nation, producing more than twice the national average.

Arizona is also second in the production of American Pima Cotton.  Arizona ranks sixth overall in production of Upland cotton.  At least 20% of the total U.S. cotton production comes from Arizona.
